Consulting Services
There are many circumstances and occasions when a formal survey may not be precisely what a client needs. This is where the second part of our name takes on added significance. Coastal Marine Surveyors & Consultants can tailor our services to meet your needs. A solid background in vessel construction, repair, and operations gives us the ability to address issues and processes that surveying alone just cannot do.

Consulting services often include timely inspections of new boat construction, refitting, or major systems repair. The time to find out about discrepancies is not the date of delivery! We will work with the builder or repair facility to schedule visits and inspections at crucial points in the process. We then report back to the client with recommendations to accept work and proceed, or for changes that may be necessary.

Every boat owner (or potential buyer) has different needs and expectations for their vessel. Before a purchase or construction commission, we can offer advice and direction about the type of boat to best suit your requirements. The selection of materials and components can be difficult at best, and quickly become overwhelming. Let us help you make this process an enjoyable and educational experience, not a headache! Once you take delivery of your new boat, we can provide personal training in the safe operation and maintenance of your new boat, ensuring years of hassle free cruising.

For clients in the insurance industry, we offer damage appraisals and repair expense evaluations. We work very closely with adjusters and claims representatives to properly assess the many whys and hows of damage claims. We are also available for catastrophe duty in the event of a natural disaster.

Coastal Marine Surveyors & Consultants can provide expert witness testimony in arbitration and litigation cases. Our unique combination of training and experience positions us to be a valuable aid to judges, jurors, mediation specialists, and arbiters. Early involvement of an expert witness can help keep costs down and lead to a much faster resolution in many disputes.

The scope and range of situations requiring our consultation services is far too broad to itemize in this format. We will gladly discuss your situation with you and structure an agreeable fee schedule. Please use the convenient links below to contact us for more details.
